NEIGHBORHOOD NEWS
A Special Thanks
As president of our HOA I would like to thank the following individuals for their contributions in making the HOA run smoothly:
Robert Creekmur – For his outstanding work as Treasurer for over 20 years of selfless service. He is the rock of the association.
Wayne Haun – For his untiring work at the Vice President for the past 5 years. He has been the voice of sanity and common sense.
Jolene MacFarlane – For her unwavering support in maintaining the HOA web site. She is always ready to assist in anyway she can to make the site better.
Doreen Vaughn – For her steadfast commitment as the Social Committee Chair. She has hosted Halloween and Christmas events for many years and has always been innovative in her approach.
Gary Vaughn – For his faithful diligence each year. Gary hangs and maintains the Christmas wreaths which are hung every year at the entrance.
Anita Haynes – Anita maintains the bulletin board at the entrance. She always has the right comments for the season or event.
Ronald Haynes – For his volunteering spirit as Secretary when no one else would accept the challenge to step up and fill a critical position.
Eric Reyes – For his commitment to doing the Neighborhood Safety Watch and going to the county sheriff’s meeting and reporting the results.
Liz Murton – For her input as a Member at Large for many years she provided sage advice on several issues the board was working on.
I would like to give a extra special to Ron and Anita Haynes as well as Tim Garcia for the work they did on the block party that was held awhile back. They lined up music and vendors and it was a fantastic success.
I am grateful for the sacrifices and service the above folks do year in and out. Without them we would have to rely on a realty company who does not always have our best interests in mind. They have made my job a president easier and I am very grateful.

HOW TO REPORT ROAD ISSUES TO VDOT
I was unaware of the procedures to report pot holes or road issues until recently. I would like to share the procedure for those who have issues they would like addressed.
The name and phone number for our area representative is Lynne Keenan at 540-899-4300, if busy, you can stay on the line and talk to any available customer service representative.
You will need your address or the nearest address of the area of the road you are concerned with. For example: The entrance to our subdivision is Piedmont Hills and Royal Oaks Drive.
They will take your information and issue a work order number, which once received, you can track the progress at (https://my.vdot.virginia.gov/)
Please be patient for the process is slow, as you can imagine, with all the requests received.
Sincerely,
Dan Hampton
